Stay Informed, Stay Safe

Hi neighbors,
Just a friendly reminder when choosing any service provider — whether it’s driving training, home repairs, tutoring, or anything else — please try not to rely only on a company’s old reputation or long history.
Today, things can change incredibly fast, and many people don’t realize:
💡 1. Google Reviews Can Be Misleading
Did you know:
• Good reviews can be bought,
• Bad reviews can be removed, and
• A business can suddenly receive a large number of 5-star reviews in a very short period of time?
That’s often a sign of paid review boosting.
In real life, it’s not easy to earn so many perfect 5-star reviews all at once, so reading deeper into the comments can help you spot patterns.
💡 2. Many Businesses Are Now Sold to New Owners (Often for Immigration Purposes)
It’s very common these days for businesses to be purchased by people with no industry experience, sometimes just to meet immigration pathway requirements.
When ownership changes like this, the entire operation can change overnight:
• Management
• Quality
• Safety standards
• Staff
• Customer service
A long history doesn’t guarantee today’s standards.
💡 3. A Company Today May Be Very Different From What It Was 10 or 20 Years Ago
New owners.
New priorities.
New instructors or staff.
Sometimes even new shortcuts.
Community members have recently shared experiences where:
• Services delivered were far below expectations
• Promised hours or services were cut
• Staff were untrained or unprofessional
• In one extreme case, a customer called 911, and the provider was arrested
Again — this post is not about competition, and not directed at any specific business.
It’s simply a public safety and consumer awareness reminder.
❤️ Before choosing any service, consider:
✔ Look at recent reviews and read deeper — sudden clusters of 5-star ratings can be a red flag
✔ Get promises in writing
✔ Confirm who owns the business right now, not years ago
✔ Don’t assume “30 years of history” means the same quality today
✔ Trust your instincts — they’re usually right
We all work hard for our money, and we all deserve honest, safe, and professional services.
Stay informed and stay safe, neighbors ❤️
